Manly House
Just footsteps from Manly Beach, this 1910s Federation semi has been thoughtfully reimagined for contemporary coastal living while retaining the charm and character of its original architecture. The clients’ brief called for a home that felt classic, calm and highly organised, with a strong focus on longevity and intelligent storage. In response, the interiors were layered with warm neutrals, durable finishes and finely detailed joinery, creating a home that feels both refined and highly functional for everyday family living.
Working in collaboration with Du Plessis Architects, the project introduces a substantial rear extension and a new first-floor addition, allowing the home to evolve with the needs of a growing family. At its centre, a generous open-plan kitchen and living space connects seamlessly to the garden, where a pool and meticulously designed landscaping create a series of relaxed outdoor entertaining areas. Colour is woven throughout the home, from two powder rooms enveloped in richly patterned wallpaper to the clients’ art collection, which introduces vibrant accents against the soft and timeless palette.
The result is a home that feels both considered and effortless- well suited to modern family life by Manly Beach.
