Danielle Bonello Celebrated by HIA
We’re proud to share that our Director, Danielle Bonello, has been featured by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) as part of their ‘Meet Our Members’ series. This recognition reflects not only Danielle’s extensive experience within the industry, but the values that guide each and every project by Danielle Victoria Design Studio.
Danielle’s Industry Journey
Danielle’s career in interior design spans more than 25 years, beginning with her studies in Interior Architecture at UNSW, followed by senior interior design roles within three architectural firms before establishing her own studio.
With a strong architectural foundation, Danielle approaches each project with a deep understanding of spatial planning, proportion and structural integrity. Her work extends well beyond finishes and furnishings; she carefully considers how a home flows, functions and ultimately supports the people who live within it.
As a dedicated mother, she understands that truly successful design must balance refinement with everyday practicality. From resolved floor plans and purposeful storage to spaces that naturally bring people together, her projects are both highly functional and enduring in style. Each home is tailored to suit the individual needs of her clients, designed not for trends, but for longevity.
Collaboration remains central to Danielle’s process. She works closely with clients, builders and trades to ensure clarity, cohesion and quality at every stage. While she values the design journey, the most rewarding moment is the final reveal- when a home feels effortless, personal and entirely right for the family it serves.
Who is HIA and Why It Matters To Us
The Housing Industry Association (HIA) is Australia’s leading residential building industry body. It represents builders, designers and industry professionals nationwide, supporting members through education, advocacy and a nationally recognised awards program that celebrates excellence across the housing sector. HIA plays an important role in maintaining high professional standards and strengthening the residential building industry as a whole.
Being an HIA member aligns closely with our values as a studio. It keeps us connected to current industry standards, evolving regulations and continued professional development. It also means we collaborate within a trusted network of builders and consultants who share our commitment to quality and integrity. HIA Award-Winning Bathroom
A highlight for our studio was receiving the HIA Award for Best Small Bathroom for our Mosman House Four project. The brief was to transform a underwhelming space into an elegant and functional , show stopper bathroom! Every detail was carefully considered; from custom joinery and layered materials to lighting and spatial flow. The result is a bathroom that feels calm, cohesive and beautifully finished. This award reflects the collaborative effort between our studio, our trusted builders & trades and our wonderful clients who place their trust in us.
